A first in 30 months

I have not updated things in the last two days as there has not been much to say since this happened:

I started having symptoms on Sunday which I first thought was my usual late summer allergies, by Sunday evening I definitely had a sore throat. Sunday night I had a hard time sleeping and Monday I did a covid test which was negative. So I went on the presumption I had a cold… after all colds are still a thing. Tuesday morning I was more congested and retested with a positive test result.

We notified the Cruise Manager and were told we had to leave the boat that day. We ended up masking up and taking the train to Amsterdam and have been laying low since. We have felt okay about walking outdoors.

I cannot say that I have been very sick. Mostly feeling of a mild to moderate cold. Since Monday everyday has been generally better. Today is day five since symptoms began. If things continue to improve tomorrow we may do some touring of Amsterdam.

Ila has been well throughout with no symptoms. So after managing to work in the hospital and care for lots of COVID patients I finally get COVID in Europe. Still thankful for the vaccinations. (Mandatory for the cruise)

Keep checking back we are still planning to start Cycling on Monday.
